Tokai COBEX is proud to announce that we started our Battery Anode Material production in France in late 2022, designed to produce BAM with one of the smallest CO2 footprints in the Battery Anode industry worldwide.

With well below 3 kg CO2eq/kg graphite material our E3BAM® is 15 to 20 times lower than regular Battery Anode Material. Electric vehicle batteries containing our E3BAM® can achieve an up to  2 times lower CO2 footprint compared to other battery packs.

A recently performed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study certified by an external third-party attests this ultra-low CO2 footprint.

The evaluation has been performed through a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology following the ISO-14040:2006 and ISO-14044:2006 international standard which is the most robust and renowned methodology for quantifying products or processes environmental impacts. It is a complete “cradle-to-gate” study, thus taking into account not only direct emissions from the manufacturing process (Scope 1 of the Green House Gas Protocol) but also upstream contributions like materials production, energies production, waste treatment, etc. (Scopes 2 and 3). Last but not least, the LCA study has undergone a third-party peer review, in conformity of a formal Critically Review process, performed by an independent international expert.

This achievement was reached by a great team effort, which took particularly care to eco-design the entire value chain (raw materials, very low carbon energies selection and highly efficient process). All this together contribute to achieve an ultra-low CO2 footprint.

According to market needs we are currently ramping up our production, targeting a 10% market share focusing on high-end segment battery producers.

Our E3BAM® is cutting CO2 emissions for electric mobility!
