60th inauguration of the new academic year 2018/2019

The event took place on Friday, 5th October 2018 on the occasion of the 60th inauguration of the new academic year 2018/2019 at the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.
The ceremony was attended by Vice-Rector Professor Jerzy Lis, the dean and vice-dean of the faculty, friends and partners of the university (presidents, directors, representatives of companies and institutions cooperating with the department) as well as invited guests and students.
As every year, the honorary award Keramos was granted to people who have particularly contributed to the development of the faculty and have succeeded in science and education. This year, one of the award winners was Janusz Tomala, Manager of the Technology Department in Racibórz.
Janusz was the 45th person in the history of the university honoured “for the great commitment to the cooperation between the faculty and carbon materials producers; for the accomplishment of a joint master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation; for the contribution to the multi-educational and scientific cooperation of the faculty with COBEX; for promoting and creating the positive image of the university in Germany and all over the world”.
