French subsidiary company receives confirmation for funding with the scope of the European Commission's IPCEI project

On January 26, as part of the GREEN DEAL the EU Commission has approved a second „Important Project of Common European Interest” (IPCEI) to support research and innovation in the battery value chain.
We are pleased to inform that our legal entity in France – Tokai Carbon Savoie SAS (name of legal entity will be changed to Tokai COBEX Savoie SAS) – has been selected as one of the 42 companies participating in this future-oriented project aiming for a clean and low emission mobility.
The research and development of our French legal entity is an innovative initiative to produce battery anode material by utilizing the existing production facilities for graphite products in France. Our whole group is committed to support the research and development activities contributing to a sustainable and recycling-oriented society.
On July 17, 2020 we acquired in collaboration with our mother company Tokai Carbon Japan the French carbon and graphite manufacturer Carbone Savoie. We manufacture products for the aluminium industry and now operating under a joint brand Tokai COBEX.
